// A NETIO Thought for 9-18-07//

Just a quick note about last night’s show.  There were audio problems the 1st half of the show because of the NETIOCam being used.  Once the camera was shut off everything was OK.  The problem was fixed at the 29 minute mark.

Now my Rant for the day.

Everyone is complain about FOX TV, editing certain celebrities speeches at the Emmy Awards on Sunday Night (9-16-07).  At first I was annoyed by the whole thing then I started thinking.  Who gave FOX TV the permission to edit a live news event and to sanitize it from the American public. 

What do I mean?

As Sally Field was accepting her Emmy she refered to the Iraq War, when she said, “Let’s face it, if the mothers ruled the world, there would be no goddamned wars in the first place.”  FOX TV did not think this was appropriate and bleeped it.

Earlier in the broadcast, FOX was forced to drop picture and sound during a stand-up monologue from Romano. Referring to the upcoming Fox series “Back to You” featuring “Frasier” star Kelsey Grammer and his own former co-star on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” Patricia Heaton, Romano said, “Frasier is screwing my wife.” FOX opted to eliminate the verb from the aforementioned sentence.

So instead of saying “Frasier is screwing my wife” after the edit, Romano said “Frasier is my wife”.  Did the FOX director realize that he promoted Gay marriage by editing the comment so it sounded like Grammer and Romano are married?  I don’t know.  

Since when has FOX TV become the channel of proper US morals?  This is the same Network that has been airing the Simpsons for 19 seasons, Family Guy,  Married with Children and Paradise Hotel just to name a few. 

And finally I have new founded respect for Barry Manilow since he has said no to an appearence on the TV program The View.  According to a post on Manilow’s website ” I will no longer be on The View tomorrow as scheduled. I had made a request that I be interviewed by Joy, Barbara or Whoopi, but not Elisabeth Hasselback.  Unfortunately, the show was not willing to accommodate this simple request so I bowed out.”

Way To Go Barry!!!  No Fuss, No Muss.  He has backout graceful no fanfare just a website post. Most people would not have know about this if the 24 hour cable news channel would haven’t told the story.
