Our newest addition. His name is Jack Bogut.  We adopted him last Saturday (July 3rd) from the Fayette County SPCA.  (and yes we named him after that Jack Bogut with some help from Eric O’Brien)

Well sort of.  

I was going through some old air check tapes and found a copy of a program I did in 2003 called “The Sounds Of The Big Bands” (listen here) this program was actually the reincarnation of a program I did in the late 90s on a local AM Station.  So after listening to it, I decided to try it again and create a program focusing on “NEW” Big Band music of today. Episode 1 is now on online at BillAlexander.net if you want to give it a listen.

However, with that being said I had decided to take some time off from doing my talkshow “OnLine with Bill Alexander”.  I will be taking the full month of July off and will be returning on the first Wednesday in August.

Disclaimer: Ok… just to let ever one know,  I have had my 15 minutes of fame that lasted 20 years when I worked AM/FM Radio and some would say that I had some notability for the past 3 1/2 years while I have been doing my NETIO Show.

I read a facebook post this morning from a friend of the program iJustine.  She has been name to the Top 100 Hot Women of 2010 by Maxim Magazine (Justine is 97 of 100).  My only complaint is that she doesn’t look like that when I see her.  Come to think of it she doesn’t look like that when we get our picture taken together. All joking aside… I am very happy for her that she is getting the recognition that she deserves.  I just hope she remembers us little people who were there for her when she started.

Sorry for the post of nothing last week.  (Eric O’Brien is the only one who caught it.)  

The reason it has been a while is because I haven’t had much to say, about anything.  I know this is odd, but hey it happens.  

I have been in a anti-podcast mood due to the lack of a live audience.  Hey, don’t get me wrong, my download number has increased nicely since the first of the year and has been great since I have been doing more interviews.  My issue is with the lack of LIVE callers. The term “Interactive” Podcast means people are to participate with the host, this is the reason why I do this.  This is why I always loved doing Talk Radio, to talk to people.  But enough of me complaining.  You can hear me do that on my show.  

Another podcast related item:  Should I switch from BlogTalk Radio from Talkshoe .  I have been with Talkshoe.com for 3 1/2 years and had a brief stint (did 4 shows) with BlogTalk Radio about 2 years ago.  The reason for my question is because I am starting to believe that listen live and participate on the talkshow is having a problem with using Talkshoe.com .  The main issue is the pin number and the caller id and the lack of promotion.  I am starting to believe that more people are listening and using BlogTalkRadio.com due the increased media attention from main stream media.  Which would mean more live listeners and downloads.   Not to worry thought.  You will still have a version to download at talkshoe.com and will not have to change your rss feed.  Tomorrow night (4/21/10) I will be doing a test show on BlogTalkRadio at 10:00PM.  You can find the program at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/italkradio .

If you have been listening to OnLine with Bill Alexander or have been reading my Twitter posts.  Most of you know that last night I aired the interview that I recorded with Lynn Cullen.  It was an honor and a pleasure to have this well respected (in Liberal Circles) talkshow host appear on my program.  Lynn and I talked about her career in Television and Radio in Pittsburgh and her new venture “OnLine Radio”.
